The Swedish Democrats. Throughout the election season, the police failed to guarantee their safety, which amounted to political censorship. Their relatively tame advertisement, which highlighted the obvious truth that Muslim immigrants are displacing pensioners in the welfare system, was banned as “hate speech.” After having won over five percent in yesterday's election, the ruling party is frantically trying to form a coalition so as to exclude them. They have been labeled “Nazis,” and the “far Right” in mainstream sources, but though clearly nationalist, their platform and message seem to be that of an older Social Democratic party.
And SD candidates have been physically assaulted as well, though the American media haven’t cared to report on it. One Swedish Democrat came home to find a swastika carved on her door, another had one carved on his forehead, while being held down by left-wing thugs! This latter act seems to have been inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s Nazi-hunting slasher flick, Inglourious Basterds.
From one standpoint, one might question what all the fuss is about. The SDs appears to desire only to protect the welfare state and “Swedish democracy.” All good modern sentiments.
The problem, of course, is that in doing so, they bring into question the reigning ideology of mutliculturalism, globalism, and anti-racism, and the hostility to European identity -- all of which are usually put under the header of “democracy.”
Such a sin is cardinal.
